3. Former Fellow of CAANZ, CPA and TTI.

Michael is a sole practitioner, tax agent and taxation consultant whose clients include a variety of companies, non-profit entities and government agencies in Australia and overseas.

His present roles include conducting strategic workshops for private sector firms and revenue authorities on emerging taxation issues.

In the earlier part of his taxation career, Michael was:

• • A Senior Fellow of University of Melbourne where he conducted the GST Principles unit in the University’s Masters level tax course.
  • A partner of KPMG for more than 20 years, specialising in both direct and indirect taxes, retiring from the partnership in December 2009; and
  • An employee of the ATO for 17 years based in Adelaide, Canberra and New Zealand.

In these roles, he contributed to the drafting and design of corporate and value added tax reforms in Australia and New Zealand.
