Taxsifu?

This domain name is “Taxsifu” – the objective of the site is to provide a path to navigate labryrinthine taxation systems.

Sifu is the pinyin for the Chinese characters 師傅.

師 means “teacher” and 傅 is “tutor”.

Traditionally the term has been used in trades where apprenticeships are undertaken. Exponents of martial arts and buddhist monks are also addressed as sifu.

The labyrinth, (represented by the diagram in the centre of the wax seal) is taken from the legend of the Greek warrior, Theseus, who defeated the half-man, half-bull Minitour. The Minitour was kept in the centre of the Labyrinth by King Minos of Crete. The King required seven maids and youths as sacrifices every nine years. Ariadne, Minos’ daughter, gave Theseus a skien of thread (literally the clue) so he could find his way out of the Labyrinth having slain the Minitour.

While the term Layrinth is often used to describe a maze, contemporary scholars say that it has a single path to the centre and back.
